NOVA Pride launches Love is Local series at New District Brewing Company

NOVA Pride launches Love is Local - a series of events highlighting local businesses in the Northern Virginia region.

NOVA Pride teams up with New District Brewing Company of Arlington, Virginia to kick off a new series of events highlighting local businesses in Northern Virginia.

(McLean, VA) October 31, 2016 –  NOVA Pride is excited to announce the launch of a new event series called Love is Local – showcasing partnerships between the organization and local LGBTQ+ friendly businesses in the region. Participants represent a wide range of businesses including restaurants, retail stores, sports groups, non-profit organizations, local government organizations, education systems and more.  New District Brewing Company will host the first Love is Local event November 6.

Since NOVA Pride’s inception, local businesses and organizations have been key supporters, advocates, and contributors to NOVA Pride and the organization feels that support should be shared. By partnering with these businesses and organizations, NOVA Pride is able to highlight not only products and services, but also that the Northern Virginia region has a plethora of LGBTQ+ friendly businesses ready to serve the community.

“NOVA Pride is a relatively new organization, but we have enjoyed tremendous success thanks to the support of smaller, more local businesses within the immediate community,” said Sarah Lakey, NOVA Pride’s Chief Marketing Officer. “If we can reciprocate that support by increasing awareness of those business, bringing in more customers, and educating the community on the opportunities out there for them – it is a win-win for everyone.”

To kick off the Love is Local series, NOVA Pride is partnering with New District Brewing Company on Sunday, November 6th for a “Sunday Funday” complete with music, raffles, craft beer flights, and more. New District is Arlington's first production brewery in 100 years. New District was built with a small group of friends and family who are dedicated to innovative and interesting craft beer. Along with providing great craft beer, it is important to New District Brewery to have a strong and supportive presence in its surrounding community. The brewery explains, “New District is an inclusive business with deep roots in our local community. We believe in supporting the LGBTQ+ community and want people to know we are an inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly business, so working with NOVA Pride is a perfect fit. We've also come to enjoy working with the organization and their board, who are professionals and lot of fun to work with."

The event will be on Sunday, November 6th from 12:00-6:00pm. RSVP before the 6th and take advantage of special promotions on craft beer and raffle tickets. NOVA Pride merchandise will be on sale, and delicious food is provided by a newly-founded food truck, Gourmeltz.
